You learned that the development of high-performing teams comes from employee satisfaction and engagement. Highly performing teams are intrinsically and extrinsically motivated to reach common goals. As we learned how important it is to keep employees motivated, we also learned that there are individual motivational factors. Here is your opportunity to discuss your motivational factors.

For your reply post, discuss the following:

Discuss what stands out most to you in the examples posted by your classmates.

Review your classmates' thoughts on motivations. Do you have similar motivations or are they different? If different, discuss why they are different and how that impacts your performance.

HERE IS THE RESPONSE POST, RESPOND AS IF YOU WERE RESPONDING TO THE PERSON DIRECTLY AND BE POSITIVE AND PROVIDE ANOTHER POINT OFVIEW: (nICOLE)

The biggest motivator for me is appreciation. In my experience, appreciation has been shown in various methods, and all were effective. The problem with appreciation is that it rarely occurs regularly. If I know that my employer appreciates the effort I put into my work, I will perform better than they expect me to.

There was a time where I was extremely motivated to perform well. It was in the beginning of my employment where I currently work. I wanted to make a difference in my student's lives, and provide the best possible experiences for them. My supervisor always made it a point to tell me how well I was doing, and that helped tremendously. As a new employee, there is always concern over performance. I didn't have any doubt that I was delivering more than the expectation.

Recently, however, my motivation has dwindled. My coworker doesn't do nearly the work that I do, and she never goes above and beyond for a student. Whereas I do everything I possibly can, regardless if I am required to. This is extremely discouraging. I have noticed that my boss doesn't care either way. My goal has always been to present an exceptional perspective of our organization by providing amazing experiences, but I seem to be the only one who does it. My company doesn't care about the effort, only the end result. (nICOLE)
