You have been awarded unlimited funds to conduct research. Your job is to create a research proposal (plan) to use the money. You may choose to study any topic, but it MUST come across clearly in your proposal.
This proposal MUST be written in the following format (do NOT use essay format):
Statement of Purpose:
What is your research question? What do you want to study? Why is it important?
Theoretical Perspective(s):
What theory or theories would you use to examine your topic? Why? For example, you may want to study social inequality using Conflict Theory because this theory focuses on power-how people define power, how or why they fight for it, what they can do with it, etc.
Review of Literature:
What are other scholars/researchers writing about the subject that you are studying? HINT: You will find this information by reading journal articles. Use peer-reviewed journal articles and non-fiction books. Do NOT use magazines, newspapers or articles from websites.
Anticipated Findings:
What do you expect to find from your analysis?
Implications for Future Research:
How can your findings affect or inform future research on this topic?
