Christopher M,

I was in an organization that had a high degree of trust, commitment, and effort in stilled into everyone that worked there.  I was in the United States Marine Crops where every Marine is instill with a core set of values to fallow while doing their jobs.  The mentality working in the Marines was to get the job done and get the job done right.  Of course every job had a different mentality of unification.  For instance I had secret security clearance for the repair job that I had.  Any violation of that clearance would have had sever repercussions.  My work place was in the armory where security was our biggest focus next to fixing broken guns and optics.

The question as if we were unified in our goals.  The answer to that is yes we were but the real question is why we were unified.  Other than the values we were taught what helped keep us focused.  We had good leadership that helped guide us in what was currently need to be done. In Military Leadership And Implications For Business Leaders In The Light Of Alternative Theories it states that, "Leadership is a science to lead people towards a common goal." (Hussain, 2015)

What also helped guide use in our jobs were Marine Corps Orders that helped set up what each job entailed.  For instance running the armory required there to be about fifteen different jobs that had to be done in order for that armory to be successfully operation in the Marine Corps eyes.  I personally had to deal with calibration, hazardous materials, and records. Of course there are orders that go with each job and how to perform that job. Things such as monthly, semiannual, and annual maintenance schedules that had to be set up and fallowed.  We take these jobs seriously because failure at these simple operating procedures not only affected you and your coworkers but could have an effect on the command as well.  The armory next to the one that I worked in was not following the operation procedures and when they got inspected they failed.  This failure ended up getting their company commanding officer fired because of it.

On the subject of leadership the bible has some things to say about it. In 1 Timothy 4: 12 it says, Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. This great verse on what a leader should do.  Lead by example a core fundamental that the military likes to use in forming successful leaders.
