Using the assigned reading material, explain where the authority to search and seize individuals and their property comes from. Your response should be approximately one to two paragraphs in length.

Using the assigned reading and the DeVry University Library, examine the difference between a search warrant and an arrest warrant. Based on the information found, respond to the following in one to two paragraphs each:

Discuss when police would seek an arrest warrant.

Discuss when the police would seek a search warrant.

Describe the steps necessary to secure both types of warrants.

Using the assigned reading and the DeVry University Library, determine when searches and seizures can be conducted without warrants. Based on the information found, respond in approximately two to three paragraphs; name and explain three exceptions to the warrant requirement.

Using the assigned reading and the DeVry online library, name at least one Supreme Court case that has impacted police authority regarding search and seizure. Include a brief explanation of the case facts. Your response should be approximately one to two paragraphs in length.

In total, your responses should be approximately two to three pages in length (not including the cover sheet and reference page). Be sure to provide the in-text and full citations in APA format to at least one source used to develop your responses.
