Writing Assignment : Socio-Autobiography

You are probably too young to write a memoir, but there is little harm to take a moment to sit down and reflect upon some important events in your life.

No one knows better about you than yourself.

Take this opportunity to revisit your childhood dreams and some unforgettable growing-up experiences and write a short essay about yourself with an awareness of the connections between you and the larger society-a socio-autobiography.

More precisely, a socio-autobiography is an essay that examines one's own life from one or more sociological perspectives. Consult the chapters on culture, socialization, and social interactions in your textbook.

You may choose to organize your essay however you like. But it is essential to involve sociological conceptsin your storytelling. You are also required to identify a reference group, which you use as a standard for evaluating your own behaviors.

Employ at least threesociological concepts in your essay. Define these concepts, identify the theorists behind these concepts, and explicitly apply these concepts to analyze your growing-up experiences (i.e. why you behave in such a way). You are not required to cite scholarly sources in this essay.
