Would Zithromax be appropriate treatment for pneumococcal bacteremia in a 9 month old child? Child had bacterial sinusitis and cellulitis. Initial Tx with omnicef.

Symptoms resolved slightly.

Fever 103' and illness resulted in er visit for work-up.

Positive cultures for pneumococcal bacteremia.

Currently receiving Zithromax.
