Will try to sum things up in as little txt as I can. Started periods at 11 - very heavy and irregular. Ovarian Cyst removed when I was 12 - the size of a softball. Long heavy periods for 14 years - but would sometimes go a few months with no period. Was told I have PCOS. Was put on metformin around 19. By the time I was 24 I was having periods every 26-28 days like clock work - Even with spot on periods, they were heavy, very painful and miserable. I was PG 4 times, all etopic.
Fast FWD to the last few months, periods are every two weeks, bleeding so heavy soaking both super tampon and overnight pad every 1 -2 hours, sometime less, pain that causes me to vomit and unable to move.
When to Gyno yesterday, he did a pap, urinate biopsy set me up for a pelvic and trasnvagional ultrasound for today and wrote me an RX for Medroxypr 10MG - take TWO at bedtime, 60 pills and 12 refills.
Does that seem right? I know I am overweight, so maybe that is why 20MG daily for me, but he never gave me any direction of taking on certain days of the month or to stop at anytime, just take two at bed time and the bleeding should slow down. So after reading all night and this morning I am questioning why. I do have a follow up in two weeks, maybe he will tell me to stop then? But why 60 pills and 12 refills? I will be 28 in Aug of this year.
