Where would you start with your new business?

Assume you are on the staff of the president of a business unit that manufacturers drivetrains for the automobile industry. The corporation has determined that a new technology will be used and therefore a new product line will be created. For example, instead of using gears, the company will introduce a continuously variable transmission. What are some of the factors that the business unit must consider when the new product line is introduced in the following year? Where would you start with your new business?
