When someone is given many resources in life and uses them to foster community and personal development and to fulfill missions and goals, they are practicing responsible stewardship (Core Values, 2017). When managers make business decisions, they should always be making decision with responsible stewardship; making sure that the outcome of the decision made will foster development and fulfill their missions and goals of the company.

Many managers also make decisions not only based on how it will affect the company, but also how it will affect the community and environment around them. Examples of this are companies like Patagonia who have created business strategies where social and environmental issues are main components of their business and not just add-ons (Lawler, 2015). This is also an example of responsible stewardship.
