There are 5 dimensions to emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-management, self-motivation, empathy, and social skills. Self-awareness is being aware of your feelings. Self-management is managing those feelings. Self-motivation is the ability to move forward despite setbacks. Empathy is sensing how others are feeling. Social skills consist of the ability to handle the emotions of others.
