Use some of the following questions to help shape a discussion on one (1) or two (2) topics you are considering for your persuasive/argumentative research paper.

What topic interests you the most? Why? What makes your topic of interest debatable? Who would engage in an educated debate on the matter with you? What might your argumentative thesis look like?

Have you engaged in some preliminary research on your topic/s of interest? What do you expect to find when you research the topic? What kind of support might your opposing audience use that you might have to address in your own argument? What difficulties do you think you might run into as you pursue your topic/s of interest?
