United Airline used different weight policies for male and female flight attendants. Although the airline required female flight attendants to meet weight limits based on suggested weights for medium body frames, it permitted male flight attendants to meet weight limits based on large body frames. Does this conduct constitute disparate treatment based on sex? Why or why not? Are there any defense United Airline could raise to support this policy?
