You have been asked to investigate a fire that occurred at a residential home. The fire originated in the kitchen. The homeowner's teenage son was home alone and left an empty pan on the stovetop with the burner turned on.

Apply the scientific method of problem solving to the above case. Explain how you would go about completing the seven steps of the process. Explain each step in detail:

Step 1: Recognize the need (identify the problem).

Step 2: Define the problem.

Step 3: Collect data.

Step 4: Analyze the data.

Step 5: Develop a hypothesis (inductive reasoning).

Step 6: Test the hypothesis (deductive reasoning).

Step 7: Select final hypothesis.

Your case study should be a minimum of 500 wor in length (approximately two full pages in length, not including the title and reference pages). Be sure to format your paper using APA standards.
