Unit Eleven Final Culminating Project Description: This project will be a final demonstration of all that you have learned in this class. You are free to choose your subject, though it must be a subject that would be appropriate in a workplace setting. You may also want to follow the guidelines for drafting an Empirical Research Report or Feasibility Study (as discussed in Unit Eleven) or a Proposal (as discussed in Unit Nine). In order to support your message, you will need to cite from no less than four (4) sources. All in-text citations must be in proper MLA format (see pp. 202 – 211 in your textbook). The project should include the following items: 1) A title/cover page, which should include a brief description of your target audience; 2) The body of the project, typed, single-spaced, and at least 4 pages in length. The report should contain: a) An introduction which orients the reader to the topic of the report, states the purpose of the report, and previews the report's organization; b) Major discussion sections divided into logical units by headings and subheadings and supported by graphics where appropriate; 3) A Works Cited page in correct MLA documentation style; 4) Appendices (if necessary). Direct your report to the appropriate target audience you’ve identified (i.e., your immediate superior of the company for which you work, a regulatory body, elected officials, potential clients, etc.). Suggestions: 1.) Develop a project that you can actually use after this class ends; look for a topic directly related to your work place that your own company or other organization with which you are associated could use. 2.) Keep in mind that this project is the culmination of all you have learned this semester, particularly in terms of audience awareness, style, and document design. Do your best to reflect this information in your report.
