? Write an essay that analyzes "The role of any chosen pathogen in human health and disease and public health"
? Using the knowledge you have gained throughout this course, your final paper must include the following:
? Appropriate microscopic, cultivation and non-cultivation methods for the chosen pathogen
? Importance of plasmids in bacterial genetics and in genetic engineering
? Human / microbe relationships
? Analysis of the virulence factors of microorganisms (include public health importance)
? Prevention and treatments strategies
Requirements
? Essay should be a minimum of 1000 words.
? The paper you submit must be your own work.
? The viewpoint and purpose of this Assignment should be clearly established and sustained.
? Assignment should follow the conventions of Standard American English (correct grammar, punctuation, etc.).
? Your writing should be well ordered, logical, and unified, as well as original and insightful.
? Your work should display superior content, organization, style, and mechanics.
? Follow APA style format, including Times New Roman 12 point font and double spacing.
? Include a minimum of five references, one of which should be your textbook. All internet sources must be original articles or government resources. Wikipedia or other non-peer reviewed resources are not acceptable.
? Include a title page and reference page.
? Use APA style for all citations.

Select a current public health issue from the following website
Source: Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. Healthy People 2030.
? Conduct a search for programs at the local, state or federal level that are addressing the issues you chose from the Healthy People 2030 website and create a 15-20 slide presentation with speaker notes that:
? Title slide (1 slide)
? Introduction slide (1 slide)
? Provides an overview of the program(s) that are working to address the health issue. (1-2 slides)
? Identifies the social marketing elements of the program and/or information provided to the media/public to reach the target audience. (1-2 slides)
? Addresses cultural competency, health disparities and/or multiculturalism, including cultural and ethical values that can positively or negatively impact changing behaviors as they relate to the public health issue. (2-3 slides)
? Explains the collaboration between stakeholders for program success. (2-3 slides)
? Describes health policy recommendations that the program could use to advance the program (regulations, legislation, or policy). (1-2 slides)
? Identifies challenges, including but not limited to reaching the target audience and funding. (1-2 slides)
? Suggests next steps for the program, such as spin off programs based on the successes, or expansion to other areas of the community, state or nationally. (1-2 slides)
? Conclusion (1 slide)
? References (as many slides as needed)
Requirements
? The presentation should be at least 15 slides.
? Each slide should have a minimum of 2-3 sentences of speaker notes in the "Notes" area at the bottom of each the slide.
? Include the references from the annotated bibliography written during Unit 8, plus any additional supporting sources in APA format.

Instructions
Download a copy of the Writing an Annotated Bibliography guide from the Writing Center here. Write an annotated bibliography for at least three (3) of the sources you plan to use for the Final Project due in Unit 9. Please refer to the Unit 9 Final Project guidelines before choosing your sources.
Requirements
? The bibliography should be at least 500 words in length.
? There should be a minimum of three sources you plan on using for the Final Project (these can include websites of organizations that will be described in the Final Project).
