Simply stated, deviance refers to behavior that differs from the norms of a society.

Find a TV show that focuses on displaying social deviance. (Remember that individuals that are "deviant" do not have to engage in criminal activity.

Deviance is any behavior that is different from the dominant norms of a society.

Those that are labeled deviant can be radicals, atheists, punks, artists, musicians, people with eating disorders, hippies, etc.)

In a 2-3 page paper, address the following:

•How does this TV show present deviance?

•What is "labeling"?

•How are the individuals labeled as deviant and who is doing the labeling?
