Twelve year old scheduled to discharge from emergency afterGymnastics accident result in fractured radius and ulna. The 12yr old states"my arm feels better ,pain medicine makes me sleepy,and I feel like I will vomit. The ra is reviewing the pain meds with girl and her mother when the mother states I have a two hour drive home can you give her something to keep her from vomiting in my car. The nurse has already completed the paperwork for discharge and the orthopedic surgeon who casted her arm has already left. The RN states there are no orders for nausea, I can give her another dose of pain medicine if you think it will make her sleep on the way home, then she might not vomit.
