Why it a problem to lean when you execute a technique?

During the session, the importance of pivoting the foot was discussed several times. Pivoting on the base foot accomplishes certain things which effect reach, power and minimize the risk of injury. In no more than five sentences, discuss these concepts.

Three points of the anatomy should be stacked, as close as possible, one over top of the other during the execution of a technique.
