Topic: Sentencing Models
Thread: Compare and contrast the 4 main sentencing goals (retribution, deterrence, incapacitation, rehabilitation).
Discuss the advantages and weaknesses of each goal.
Would different sentencing models (indeterminate sentence, determinate sentence, consecutive & concurrent sentences) be appropriate for different crimes? Why or why not?
