1.The paper should be at least 5 pages long, single-spaced, with a 12-point font.

This is a formal paper. You should be going beneath the surface of the show to make arguments that are not obvious to the casual viewer. You should do "primary research by _ viewing and reviewing many episodes of the show or shows you will be writing on. You will come up with your own theory, which you will then support with evidence from the show itself-Please avoid unsupported opinions in your papers, such as, "this show is great." For each paragraph, you need one major point that is ?eshed out. You must use speci?c examples to prove your assertions. (In simple terms, please tell me something I don't know already me with your evidence that proves your argument!
10. This is not a research paper. I am interested in your ideas and no one else's. But, you cannot use the ?rst person, "I, me, and my." You must write statements objectively. Your arguments have to be your own, backed up by your own evidence. If absolutely
necessary, you may get some background information about the show. But, if you do this, cite every one of your sources, and include hardcopies of all material.
11.If you find yourself recounting the plots of episodes in detail, you've got a problem! Think of it this way. If I've seen the show, or if you have provided me with the episodes you will be discussing, then I've seen the material. At most, you may need a one or two line
explanation of some aspect of a plot, so I understand your argument. If you ?nd yourself recounting the plot in detail, you are heading in the wrong direction with your paper. Providing convincing evidence for your arguments is very different from re-telling the story of an episode, a multi-episode story-arc, or a season.
