Discuss the impact of Communication Technology on Print and Electronic Based Media
Preparation: To competently address this essay you will need to have an understanding of the recent past, our current period and the media's future in Australia.
Communication Studies graduates are expected to have a high standard of written communication skills. This unit will place a premium on the quality of the written assessment work. Three elements will be particularly important:
• Text organization - this includes essay structure, including reference list/bibliography and quality of argument.
• Content - including conceptual understanding and evidence of wide reading.
• Presentation - including ease of reading, editing, proof-reading, spelling, punctuation, grammar and consistent use of referencing.
Presentation: The essay must be typed on A4 paper, using 12 pt font, double-spaced and printed on one side of the page only with a margin of 3cm. All pages must be numbered, preferable with a Header/Footer with the student's name and number.

The essay should be securely bound by staples or other appropriate means, so that it can be easily read and marked. Please do not place essays in plastic binders.
Essays must be submitted in hardcopy only by Internal Students. Essays submitted via e-mail will only be accepted from External Students.

Assessment criteria: The essay will be assessed by the following criteria:
• The degree to which the student has convincingly addressed the essay question and evidence of thorough investigation into the topic (15%)
• Presentation - including clarity of writing, grammar, consistent use of referencing and proof-reading and appropriate, logical organisation of the text (5%).
