This week we'll focus on America's love of the mystery genre. You will incorporate research into your posts this week, and your research sources need to be scholarly (no Wikipedia, no ask.com, no unreliable websites--put your new knowledge of scholarly sources and evaluating sources to use here). Be sure to follow APA guidelines for in-text citations and References citations for the borrowed material you incorporate.   

First, little research online for reliable online resources, on the appeal of detective stories as a cultural phenomenon in American society. You may research about books, television, films, or plays (just let us know which one you're focusing on).  

Then, address the following questions: What is it about our culture that makes detective or mystery tales popular? What are some of your favorite mystery-genre books, films, or TV shows, and why do you feel they resound with our contemporary audience of readers or viewers? Finally, try to find out if the mystery story exists in other cultures and share your findings with us. 

Your initial post should include at least two hundred words of your own thoughts and ideas.  NOTE: Research material shared will not count toward the minimum length requirement.
