This task is to produce a report on the use of communication techniques in a contemporary international service organisation.
The assignment can be submitted either as a written report OR as a recorded presentation with a slideshow (PowerPoint, Prezi or another form of slide presentation). Students will work in pairs (two students per group). Both partners are required to contribute equally to the final result. If there are any problems or concerns regarding your pair, such as your partner not taking their share of the task or they become unavailable for whatever reason, you need to contact the Course Co-ordinator for immediate advice.
Distance students are to use the discussion forum to seek a partner. If you cannot locate a partner by week 6, the Course Co-ordinator will partner you with another student. Distance students should maintain regular contact with the course Moodle site and with your assessment partner through Zoom or Skype, email and/or phone. A Group Report Forum will be made available on the Moodle site to share questions/problems/ideas.
The report is required to be worked on and submitted as a pair. However, in exceptional circumstances students may be permitted to submit the assessment as an individual. Please contact the Course Co-ordinator if you believe your situation to be genuinely problematic.
The written report must have a correct report format. The recorded presentation must include a Powerpoint slide show.

Some questions that might help you to focus your assignment:
-What is old/new media?
- How are we using communication technologies in business organisations today?
- What are the key communication issues in global business?
- What issues do organisations need to understand more thoroughly? (eg. security of confidential information; intellectual property rights; liability; defamation; privacy issues; productivity issues, hacking, etc).
- How are future communications likely to be different from today?
You are required to research and include at least five (5) reputable references in the report/presentation. Any information that you take from external sources must be referenced and a reference list included, either at the end of the written report . The inclusion of journal articles is highly recommended.
