This discussion board is built on previously established threads. (I have made the threads already.) Please divide up your responses and place them in different threads, according to the topic (i.e., please cut and paste from yourp document to the various threads). If you feel that yet another thread should be created, please email me at [email protected] and I will give serious consideration to your suggestion.

In addition to your main post(s),

To begin, please watch two (2) of the first group of 360-Degree videos (those discussing the pros and cons of the 360-Degree process, as listed in Module 6), and also watch at least two (2) of the "Ugly" videos (to add a bit of pointed fun to this). Take notes on each of these four (4 total) videos.

Post about six substantive paragraphs on the discussion board (aim for two or three paragraphs for each serious video that you watched, and at least one detailed paragraph for each comedic video).

At least two of these paragraphs should include tie-ins (in the form of quotations) from our Kouzes and Posner book, though these do not have to be from the "Encourage the Heart" section.

You should plan on dividing up these paragraphs and posting them to various threads.

Then reply to the posts of at least two classmates. If classmates ask you questions in replies to your post, you should give them substantive replies (as in conversation). Always attempt to strike up conversations surrounding this material---especially as we are nearing the end of the course, and I'd like you to have the benefit of that added experience. (Your grades will depend on these "replies to replies" and other comments beyond the initial two replies.)

For Students Wishing to Earn an "A" on this Assignment: I recommend first viewing the short "What's Wrong with 360-Degree" video and then watching the much longer "360 Degree Feedback Webcast/5 Common Mistakes Made in 360 Degree Feedback Surveys" presentation. (You will also need to view two of the "Ugly"/funny videos as well.)
Videos on 360-Degree Feedback Processes

Please view these in preparation for this week's Discussion Board. Several useful videos highlighting "The Good and the Bad" are given first, followed by "The Ugly" (which are fun to watch).

THE GOOD (AND SOME OF THE BAD) of 360-Degree Assessments:

What's Wrong with 360-Degree Feedback? (Plain presentation, but worthwhile---especially his description of the basics, the investment, and the difference between being "higher...and...lower" in the organization):

5 Common Mistakes made in 360-Reviews (This is an hour-long but very useful and interesting online PowerPoint presentation; the audio sounds a bit "long-distance" in quality but is otherwise clear.)

Preview of an online 360-Degree process (This is useful although it is a promotional video; note, I am not promoting or recommending "Grapevine" over any other 360-Degree system, because there are several worthy competitors. But I find these videos provide a decent introduction, if your company is starting to consider purchasing such a system):
