Thesis:

Students act like workers in a factory in school. The school system is cutting off creativity and individuality, causing students to spend half of their life discovering their talents, leading to depression.

Question: How can this change? What are the ways to improve the school system?

Include:

-Students are more concerned about grades than understanding the material and learning.

? They forget what they learned a couple of days after they take a test.

? Students should be able to take the 10 different classes they are really interested in each year plus the required courses like English, Computers, and Math.

? Every student should take a test in 5th grade that helps them determine their learning style. Students should be placed in classes based on style to make learning more effective.

? Students should have 30 minutes each day to read, because readers are leaders.

? No one likes studying but everyone likes learning. There are different ways of learning that do not require sitting with the book open for hours. Teachers should make learning fun by playing movies and bringing educational games to class.

? Every student should learn programming because it teaches him or her how to think and break problems into smaller steps.

? Every student should be rewarded with $50 each month for good behavior and good grades.

? Creating a better education system means creating a better future.

Here is my introduction: Students are human beings that yet have to develop a character and discover their talents. Many students are undecided in college because they did not take classes that would spark their interests. Educational systems are not universal and some are better than the others. The issues with the school system in United States are shocking because the nation spends a lot of money on education. The system is ineffective because every student is expected to study the same material, school days are too long, topics studied today were thought hundred years ago. This leads to lack of creativity and curiosity among students, which leads to indecisiveness in college, change in careers, anxiety, and depression. Shorter school days, more real-life classes, no state exams, and different approaches of teaching can change our society, and help create identity among students.
