The Wage and Hour Division is charged with enforcing the child labor requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act as well as recordkeeping, overtime pay and the Federal minimum wage. This division also takes care of the enforcement of the Family and Medical Leave Act, wage garnishment provisions of the Consumer Credit Protection Act and the Employee Polygraph Protection Act, as well as the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act.
