These whistleblower statutes also protect employees who report various workplace violations, such as consumer product, commercial motor carrier, public transportation agency, maritime, railroad, airline, motor vehicle safety, pipeline, nuclear, environmental, financial reform, health insurance reform, security, food safety and safety. Worker participation as well as various health and safety activities are also covered under the Whistleblower Acts. The reporting of work related illnesses, injuries and even fatalities are also encompassed under the Whistleblowers protection Act. The Occupational Safety and Health Act was charged with ensuring that employers do not discriminate against their employees. This Act requires that the workers file a complaint within 30 day of the actions with OSHA.
