The Task:

You must write a reflective summary of your personal experiences in the PDP module, the skills you developed or will further develop and the impact of these on your future career goals.

You must read these instructions carefully before attempting this assignment. All of the instructions below are reflected in the marking criteria.

1. Your assignment should contain FOUR sections:

Introduction

Discuss a general overview of yourself; your personal background and significant personal achievements. Your introduction should consider a scenario regarding your self-assessment prior to entering the PDP 1 module.

The PDP experience

Discuss in detail the experience you had in class in the development of your academic and career-related skills. Your course experience should focus on the following important points:
1. The class activities that developed your skills
2. The academic skills that you developed in class
3. The career-related skills that you developed in class
4. The relationship with other students
5. The academic and non-academic challenges/barriers that you experienced and resolved in class

Personal insights

This part should focus on your personal assessment. Give a thorough analysis of your development in the class. The following should be part of your discussion:
1. The academic skills that you think need further development
2. The career-related skills that you think need further development
3. The importance of developing your academic and career-related skills
4. The important aspects of your academic and career-related skills you need to consider to further develop yourself to fit your career pathway
5. The important things you will suggest to improve the PDP class and help other students develop themselves

Future plans

This part should focus on the opportunities ahead of you and how you plan to achieve your goals. This should set the scene of what you want your future to look like. The following should be part of your discussion:

1. The opportunities that you have at present (possible work, promotion at work, a new career or possible enrolment in your Master's after your Bachelor's)
2. The career goals that you have to focus on to get the opportunities
3. The other career plans you want to achieve in the future
4. The specific skills you need to gain to achieve your goals.
5. The learning that you want to share with other students

2. Always incorporate to use the theory of reflective practice in doing your work. As much as possible you need to include examples of theory and relate this to your experiences in PDP.

3. You must use at least five academic sources. Include proper in-text references and a reference list at the end of your assignment. You have to follow the Harvard referencing style.

4. Use proper report style format, with headings and sub-headings. The font type must be either Arial or Times New Roman with a font size 12 and with 1.5 line spacing. It should be a Microsoft Word Document based on required format.

This assignment will assess learning outcome:

1. Identify their own learning style and preferences and apply self-management and independent learning strategies to support their study at HE level 4; they must also take ownership of their work through responsible maintenance of individual e-portfolios of uploaded work, reflective logs and employability logs.

2. Devise and monitor an action plan for their personal development based on their awareness of the key aspects of employability, also developing appropriate and accurate evidence to support their progress.

3. Undertake appropriate research tasks and develop an appropriate academic writing style.
