BACKGROUND

Over the last two decades, scholars and practicing managers have paid considerable attention to the role that infrastructure could play in the socio-economic development of nations, especially developing countries. Not only does infrastructure is considered in many instances as the backbone of the economy, it is also viewed as a key provider of social returns, especially for employment,income, education, health, poverty alleviation and so on.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVES

This research investigates the contribution of infrastructure in delivering social and economic returns in Burkina Faso. Specifically it examines the extent to which investments in infrastructure could impact aggregate outputs indicators as well as other economic and development indicators.

RESEARCH QUESTIONS

- Establish which infrastructure sector has the most significant impact on the aggregate outputs
