The purpose of this mini research paper is to demonstrate you fully understand age development appropriate activities for infants and toddlers and the development.

Describe in detail the background information on which theorist has significant influence on the area of development. Create a toy and provide and be prepared to demonstrate it to the class.

Select an area of development focusing on an infant or toddler and a toy or equipment. Please keep the following in mind:

• What age does the toy or equipment focus on.

• Conduct research on the area or areas of development your toy will provide.

What does the California Department of Education Infant /Toddler Learning Foundations say about the l earning from the toy/equipment you create.

• What are the learning goals and objectives?

• How will you introduce the toy to the children?

• What are the safety issues you learned?

• Provide a picture of the toy or equipment in your research paper.

2. Discuss the theory behind the development, and describe in detail with examples age appropriate activities.

3. You must provide a title for your research paper with a cover page, on the cover page provide the, instructor's name course information, your name, and a running head (shorten version of your title). APA format is required.

4. Double-spaced on standard-sized paper (8.5" x 11") with 1" margins on all sides. You should use 10-12 pt. Times New Roman font or a similar font.

5. Include a page header at the top of every page. To create a page header, insert page numbers flush right. Then type "TITLE OF YOUR PAPER" in the header flush left.

6. Your mini research paper should be approximately five pages, not including title page.

7. Use at least four references, make sure the course text is one, and the California Department of Education Infant /Toddler Learning Foundations.

8. Make sure you use current research articles to back up your discussion (not older than 10 yrs.)
