The point that Davis Gugghnehim is trying to make through this video is that we have a school system that has failed our children and continues to do so. Children from poor neighborhoods are at a complete disadvantage when it comes to education. We watched high schools with 68% rate dropout which results to higher crime rates and incarnation. You feel so angry to learn that our system pays $33,000 a year for a prisoner, instead of putting that money towards a better education for our children.  David Gugghenehim suggests that in order for our school system to succeed, there must be changes. We must have better qualifying teachers that apply the right accountability for the kids to reach their goals. He stressed the importance of extra support from school staff, so the children donât fall behind. Mr. Canada is a perfect example as to what really needs to be done to make it work.

We live in a very competitive world. With our education falling behind other countries, we will not be able to thrive as a society. Teachers are responsible for our young generation to succeed when it comes to learning. I think that the 10-year law is unfair. Everyone should be evaluated based on performance, and teachers should not be an exception. It doesnât only benefit our children, it makes teachers search for better teaching practices and reaching higher goals. It is very sad to see in the video that the teacherâs goal was for the kids to show up in class. What would happen to an average person if they did not do their job? You hear on the video that studies show that children with higher performing teachers, performed 3 times higher than children with bad performing teachers. After all the fight Michele Rhee did to change the system, she said that in the end it was all about the adults. We can only hope that people like Rhendi Wieingarten wake up and realize how much they damaged our education system before itâs too late.
