The paper gives a brief of overview of the people sent to correctional facilities which include individuals who in various aspects may not be willing to comply with the rule of law. Within the correctional facilities, there exists either sentencing to imprisonment, to probation services, community services, and complete prison term services. The cases of recidivism are common within the prison services thus as the offenders are arrested, the security personnel within the prison services thus prison warders ensure that the correctional programs are given. Prison have diverse uses within the criminal justice system thus has the duty of ensuring the legal process is deemed applicable at any point. The prisons punish that which is considered political repression to punish what are illegal through the fair administration of justice. Prisoners are classified into various categories varying from hardened offenders to the less serious criminals within the society. As they are imprisoned, the steps adopted either comply with the steps that give the steps in controlling the offender recidivism. The issue of the death penalty remains a controversial issue that would be addressed in the paper as it seeks to focus on due process and preservation of justice at all the stages of life.
