The different options a manufacture of flat screen TVS with regards to channels of distribution can chose from is:

Direct Channel: A direct channel is a marketing channel where a producer and ultimate consumers deal directly with each other.

Indirect Channel: Indirect channels are marketing channels where intermediaries are inserted between the producer and consumers. They perform numerous channel functions. For example: The producer → retailer → consumer channel (Channel B) is the most common. The producer →wholesaler → retailer→ consumer channel (Channel C) is common for low-cost, low-unit value items that consumers frequently purchase. The producer →agent →wholesaler →retailer →consumer channel (Channel D) is used when there are many small manufacturers and many small retailers. An agent is used to help coordinate a large supply of the product.

These are the top two I would choose from, but Indirect Channeling I believe is the better choice. I personally like walking into a store, and seeing my options. I like going into each retailer, and seeing who has the better deal. If you want to put warranty on the TV you can do it right there too. Also if you need to return the TV, you just walk right back into the store. Plus most retailers have credit cards that have promotional periods to pay off your TV. What if you need cables to hook up your TV or a stand, if you go to a retailer, your more than likely to pick up the right one. You can have the sales associates help you pick the right things to set up your TV. You can also have them help you bring the TV to your car. Plus there's more options because not everyone likes the same brand. I feel as a manufacture, and a customer they both get exactly what they want, which is low cost, large supply of products, and a successful company. Such as, Best Buy, Walmart, and etc.
