The confirming evidence trap is certainly something to be respected. However, getting stuck to deeply on any trap can lead to inaction for any problem. Inaction can result in the status quo problem which is not a good option. Our responsibility in judging whether an alternative chosen was a smart choice is to be open to a different perspective. When the war began, I instinctively knew that we would not be privey to all the information the decision makers have in deciding tactics. The minute they share their decision making expertise with our information hungry Americans, the enemy develops another strategy to defeat us.
My philosophy has always been "respect what you don't know" My hope and prayer is that those in decision making roles use all the information they have in the most effective manner possible to arrive at the decisions that keep us safe and protect our way of life. And there will always be unintentional consequences
