The category and population that will be discussed is that of male perpetrators who are at risk or whom have committed aggravated assault to their intimate partner, also known as intimate partner violence (IPV). IPV is an ongoing serious issue that has been around for many years and more people are becoming aware of this violence due to awareness programs. Most programs are focused towards the victims and their children, but the shifting focus towards the perpetrator is just as important. It is crucial to look deeply into the trajectory and development of the aggressive criminal behavior of male perpetrators, in the assistance to create effective, intervention programs that will diminish their aggressiveness. The outcome can ultimately lead to the overall decrease of intimate partner violence victims.
