Test Marketing

The  seventh  step  is  test  marketing that  is the  stage  at  which  the  manufacture  and  marketing programs are introduced into more accurate marketing settings. Test marketing allows the marketer obtain experience with marketing the product.

1). The main purpose is to test the product itself in real markets.

2). The amount of test marketing varies with every new product.

a). Not all manufacture are test marketed.

b). Simple line extensions and copies of competitor products are often not test marketed.

3). The test marketing costs can be high but they are frequently small while compared to with the costs of creating a major mistake.

4). However, by using test marketing doesn't guarantee success.
