Describe a hazard specifically associated with terrorism and identify the risks associated with it. Identify preparedness and mitigation efforts that have been made in the last three years relative to the risks, naming the organization or government sectors that made the efforts. State whether you feel safer now than you would have if such efforts had not been made. Justify your answer with appropriate research and reasoning.

The September 11, 2001, incident led to the formation of DHS and renewed the focus on protecting the homeland from natural and man-made disasters and attacks. Search the department’s Web site to become familiar with its organizational chart and functions. Discuss whether you believe or not that this agency is capable of keeping the homeland safe. How can this huge agency be better focused to perform its statutory functions? Justify your answers with appropriate research and reasoning.
