You are asked to prepare a report on the strategic integration of HR in an organisation that you can obtain access to.Choose a current company in Australia or Overseas. This is an applied assignment, and it is essential that you are able to apply the knowledge in the subject to a real organisation.

Critically analyse the nature of the integration between the HR strategy and the business strategy of the organisation. What are the gaps in integration? What are the effects of these gaps? What recommendations would you make to overcome these gaps?

Use relevant academic literature to construct an analytical framework that can be applied to the analysis of the case organisation.

This assessment will enable students to demonstrate their ability to critically assess: the changing role of human resource management within the current and future business contexts; and the alignment of human resource management with business strategy. The assessment also provides students with an opportunity to demonstrate their ability to synthesise and critically evaluate academic literature, and apply practical reasoning to address real world problems.
