Task: Would like the task completed in particular relation to the Australian industry but also the world wide industry. not any other singular market e.g. India You are to execute an industry research project which requires an investigation of an issue currently facing or influencing contemporary marketing communications industry practice. This task is designed to allow students to take a macro view of the marketing communications industry and to interrogate a macro issue affecting the industry. It will allow you to offer an industry perspective on that issue and reflect on its significance. You should identify and discuss the major factors influencing and shaping your chosen issue. It can be identified from experiences during internships, or from trade press coverage or other coverage of current topical issues in the industry. The final report should adopt the conventions of an academic or industry report document. It should contain the following sections: Title Page Executive Summary Contents Introduction - introduce the study by saying what the topic is, its aim, a brief statement of the approach taken; Background - establish the context for the study, state the problem and the key research question you are addressing; Literature Review - set the scene for your study by summarizing any other key research that has been completed on your topic. This will frame your problem and your own research; Research Method - this is a brief description of the research design and methods adopted by your study. What data gathering strategies, tools and instruments did you use? Findings - systematically record the results of your data gathering. Describe, analyse and interpret. Look for categories, patterns, themes etc. and attempt to make sense of it. Offer some discussion where you synthesise the data from different sources and interpret it; Conclusion and/or Recommendations - the conclusion should summarise the study. How did you achieve the aims of the study? Bibliography and/or References - APA referencing style is required for this subject. Appendices Include your student name and number on each page of the report. Rationale As a new practitioner about to enter the profession, this assessment item has been designed to assess your ability to identify and discuss the major issues influencing and shaping contemporary marketing communications practice. The task will also provide students with the opportunity to familiarise themselves with an issue that may impact on the industry's future. This assessment is designed to consolidate a student's learning over their whole course. This is measured through a student's demonstrated ability in the application of discipline relevant research methodologies towards articulating an individual's practice. Your research task is designed to ensure the following graduate capacities; be able to work independently as effective practitioners; be able to reflect on personal learning and achievements, as well as identify areas for future development; be able to critically reflect on professional issues in communication and creative industries including cultural diversity.
