Tactical Plan for Human Resources Department

The Human Resource department is tasked with securing interns, recruiting and training volunteers, and overseeing all aspects of hiring and acclimation. The securing of interns can be accomplished by establishing relationships with local secondary institutions and generating excitement for opportunities with new literature outlining our excellent business practices, our commitment to the community and the opportunities we could provide students with internships and volunteer partnerships. The pamphlet would need to be designed in preparation for meeting with department heads at the local institutions. This should be completed while meetings are being set up. These pamphlets should cost the department no more than $300 and would also be able to be used to attract volunteers at local businesses, retirement homes, job fairs, and at any of our events.

The next goal would be accomplished by hiring another employee specifically to be our training manager. This position, with a modest salary of $30,000, would take approximately 18 months to be fully realized of the potential. This person would be trained by each department and be able to handle the training of any individual to have them ready to learn the specific details entailed in each department. This person would also train each volunteer and could be a speaker at local businesses on an as needed basis. This would allow for the correct training of everyone that is employed by the organization to the degree desired by each department. It would also be of use to redesign training materials that the new training manager could use while training themselves. These new materials would get a budget of $5000 and would need input from each of the departments to make sure the values instilled are of the greatest need by each department. This person would serve as a liaison between all volunteers and the organization making sure they and all interns as well as any new employees are acclimated to the organization in the most timely and efficient manner. It is the intention to use a recruiting agency to find the right person needed for the position, as a young graduate might not possess the skills needed to fill this position.
