End-users traditionally use the term "Software," "System Software" and "Operating Systems" interchangeably. For the Information Technology (IT) professionals, the terms should not be used interchangeable. Let's break them down. By definition, Software is the series of instructions that makes the hardware usable. Software has two major subsystems, namely "System Software" and "Application Software." "System Software" is a subsystem of the "Software" that controls the internal performance of the computer systems. Also, the "Application Software" is a subsystem of the "Software" that serves as the productivity software designed to meet specific end-users' need. The "System Software" has two major subsystems, namely "Operating Systems" and "Utility Programs." By definition, "Operating Systems" is a collection of programs that controls, allocates, and schedules the system resources. It handles all the communications necessary within the system and creates a well-defined environment for the application.

Find other definition of "Utility Programs" also known as "Utilities." Identify two major Utility Programs that you are familiar with and provide their functionalities. Avoid identifying the ones already stated by your classmates.
