Business Case study (Operational Management):

Adeline and Daniel both of them are Postgraduate from a reputed B-school with first class from different speciality. In college days they were good friends. Surprisingly both of them got employed in the same international organization; Adeline as a counselor in the HR department and Daniel as a financial executive. The position and salary of them were on par; however the job responsibility of Daniel is high since he is in the finance department. By nature Adeline is friendly and ready to help the needy. Daniel is silent and ready to help others when approached personally but bit egoistic in nature. Adeline felt that Daniel nowadays he is not as he used to be in the past and avoids Adeline. She noticed some behavioural changes with him. During conversation with Daniel, Adeline understood that he is not recognized among the employees while Adeline is famous in the organization. One morning Franklin, the HR chief manager shocked to see the resignation letter of Daniel. He did not ready to lose talented employees such as Adeline and Daniel. In the afternoon Franklin took Daniel to the canteen and discussed some general matters and slowly he asked why he has opted to resign. Daniel opened his thinking and spelt out his problem:

(i) When he comes alone to the canteen no employees even recognize him. But when accompanied by Adeline he is well treated.

(ii) One day both of them entered the company together, the security in the gate wished them but the next day when he came alone the same security did not do so.

(iii) Even in the meetings held in the office the points raised by Adeline is more valued when many times he has to be a silent spectator.

Question: As a chief HR manager, analyse the situation and discuss in detail how you would convince Daniel to retain him in the same organization.
