Sociologists argue that we are products of nurture (i.e. socialization). Thus, had we been born into a different family, a different part of the world, a different race, gender, sociology-economic class etc., we may not necessarily have been the people we are today in terms of our beliefs, values, experiences and choices we make. But, despite this, why do few people take the time to look at the sociological factors that contribute to people's experiences? For example, what are the sociological factors that can help us understand why there are poor people in the US?
