Since we discussed Description for the first half of class, let's use our discussion as a means to practice describing!  Please write a short descriptive paragraph about yourself OR thing/person that is important to you. Include a variety of details about yourself (physical, personality, speech, etc.) or the thing/person (visual, smell, touch, sound). Write at least 200 words for your main post. You should also comment on your classmates' posts at least twice this week in posts of at least 100 words each. You might add on to their descriptions or challenge them OR you might connect their descriptions to your own. Have fun with this!

Examples of things/people you might describe: a family heirloom, a child, a religious memento, a piece of sporting equipment, an object from your favorite hobby, etc.

Things you might consider about yourself when describing yourself to a group of people that barely knows you: what do you look like, how do you speak,  what's your personality like, how do you interact with others, what does you life look like, etc.

REMEMBER, DESCRIPTIVE DETAILS ARE KEY!! It's much more valuable to show my mousy, dark brown hair that knots up in what my mother called a "rat's nest" every morning, than to simply state I have long, brown hair.
