Select a leader with whom you are personally familiar at either a current or former place of employment. Create an alias for the person, and avoid including information that would allow the person to be identified. In a paper of 300 to 500 words, review this leader as follows:
- Describe the leadership characteristics possessed by this person, or explain which important characteristics this person lacks.
- Discuss the leadership style of this leader through the lenses of trait theory, skills approach, style approach, situational approach, contingency theory, leader-member exchange theory, transactional leadership and transformational leadership. (Transactional and transformational leadership are summarized in the Armandi, Oppedisano and Sherman article you read in Module 1. You are also free to do additional research on any of these approaches.)
- If you were providing helpful leadership advice to this person, what would you suggest?
