Literature review Assignment 1-

The purpose of the literature review is gain a deeper understanding of 08 theories and key concepts (including organisational communication) that will be applicable to the Issues identified In the case organisation. Teams are expected to provide a coherent and critical discussion of these theories and concepts.

For this assignment, each team is to select one 08 topic that has been or will be covered In class (e.g. motivation, organisational design, organisational culture). The literature review must critically explore the topic in reasonable detail, providing theoretical models and/or frameworks. The literature review needs to be reflective of recent academic developments in area.

The OB topic will be used to guide the team's organisational analysis and recommendations (i.e. assignments 2 and 3). Therefore, It is important that each team has a good idea of the type of problem their case organisation has encountered and that the 08 topic is of relevance.

It is imperative that the literature review is well cited and referenced. All citations and references need to be in accordance with the American Psychological Association (APA) style. At least 5 academic articles must be incorporated In this literature review.

Organisational analysis Assignment 2-

This assignment requires teams to provide a brief Introduction to their approved case organisation and to identify a substantial 08 issue or Issues suitable for this project. The Issues Identified need to be analysed and structured In the light of the theoretical and conceptual knowledge gained from the literature review.

This analysis will form the basis for the consultancy recommendations and report. It is expected that this assignment will identify some preliminary recommendations (or areas of Improvement).

Final report and presentation Assignment 3-

The final report, reflecting an expert consultant's viewpoint, will be a consolidation of the two earlier assignments (i.e. teams may use parts of their previous assignments ensuring that the tutor's comments are addressed) plus recommendations, assumptions and limitations. The final report must present a dear and practical set of recommendations grounded on 08 theory while also address organisational communication.

In addition, project teams will produce and deliver a presentation outlining their respective projects and providing justification for their recommendations and conclusions. Presentations will be 15 minutes in length followed by 5 minutes of questions and answers. All team members must be present and make a substantial contribution on the day.
