Ross owns and operates a florist business named Blossom World, Inc. ("Blossom"), from a shop in his Ohio hometown. Blossom advertises and sells in Ohio from the shop, and advertises and sells over the internet. Using Blossom's website, on August 5th, Laura purchased $50,000 worth of live wedding flowers using her credit card, from her home in Dallas, Texas. She requested the flowers to be shipped and delivered by September 15th to a hotel in Indiana, the site of the wedding.  She also requested $50,000 worth of roses to be sent to the couple on their honeymoon.  The flowers arrived on September 14th, the day before the wedding, but Laura claimed they were withered and unusable.  Before her payment was processed for the roses, Laura called Blossom and stated she would never pay another dime, and filed suit against Blossom the next day.
