In order to purchase and install the solar panels we will need about $30,000. The solar panels will need to be purchased and installed. Matthen Kadwell who owns Sumpter Solar Services, LLC. has stated that he will do the installation for free. I will identify the seller of the solar panels through Matthew and Sumpter Solar Services LLC. He has stated that he will be able to help us find a supplier who will give us a good deal on the panels. Matthew has also stated that he will be able to give me an estimate as to the cost of further installation equipment and future monitoring. Components required to install a solar panel system include ; an inverter,racking and mounting, flashing, grounding wires clips and lugs, combiner junction box, ac and dc disconnects, breakers and switches, module connectors, lighting arrestor, monitoring, signage, metering, as well as a battery bank, charge controller, battery cables and battery monitoring.

In the process of developing a civics curriculum for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), it will be important to pull from existing community resources and experts. I would like to use a portion of the funds to temporarily employ an Omaha public schools civics or American government teacher, preferably with special education experience, and a representative from Disability Rights Nebraska. These individuals will play a significant role in the development of appropriate and comprehensive curriculum. I will also use representatives from the organization, Mosaic, who will assist with the development - preferably two direct care staff and one program manager. It may also be beneficial to include one client, a guardian, and a volunteer from the organization. This would allow for a diverse and well-represented group. The curriculum will be developed over a course of a six week period, with two meetings per week. The group will need a conference room with technology access. Once the curriculum is determined, the curriculum materials will need to be reproduced. This may include the development of video content, information packets, or the purchase of other instructional materials. Determining this cost will involve surveying the Mosaic population to see how many individuals are interested in participating. The course itself will be held in six weekly sessions. During these sessions it will be necessary to have direct care staff or volunteers on hand to assist with the instructional process - the cost of this staff will also need to be considered as part of the budget.
