THE POWERPOINT IS ON: customer satisfaction in health care!!

Research Design--

Description of the research techniques you have chosen and your rationale (e.g., qualitative phone surveys, written surveys sent to a random sample, etc)

Methodology-- specific details explaining how the survey was implemented. Include a description of the population and any cohorts, the sampling plan and actual sample, details about the administration of the survey, and any other research techniques used.

Each learning team will be required to prepare a research proposal on a topic dealing with a customer-focused problem. The intent of the project is to integrate the learning from each of the five weeks' readings and class discussions into a comprehensive research proposal. The specific topic chosen should be one that captures a problem that managers encounter frequently. Note that no data are actually collected in this project; rather, the focus is on proposing a comprehensive research design.

Suggested topics for the research report and presentation are as follows:

• Quality
• Customer Satisfaction
• Assessing Customer Needs
• Employee Satisfaction
• Evaluating a New Service or Product
• Projecting Customer Needs: New Services or Products
• Another topic approved by your faculty member.

Research Report

Online Campus students will submit a 10 to 15-slide Microsoft PowerPoint presentation with presenter notes. This presentation should highlight the features of the research, summary of secondary resources, sampling plan, questionnaire format, and expected results. Use visual aids (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint slides, overhead transparencies, etc.). EACH OF THE FOLLOWING HEADINGS (IN BOLD BELOW) SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN YOUR REPORT.

The report should contain the following sections:

• Executive Summary-- A brief synopsis of the entire report. As the name implies, if the executive manager did not have time to read the whole document, he or she should be able to read this one page and understand what you did, why you did it, your results, and your recommendations.

• Introduction-- All relevant details about a virtual company or workplace. Start with an overview, and provide the details necessary for understanding the problem you have chosen to study.

• Statement of The Problem-- An outline of the research problem as it exists in your virtual workplace.

• Literature Review-- An integration of the relevant information from the eight to ten articles summarized during Week One (and other articles, as appropriate). This section should provide a description of related research and provide the basis for the design and methodology you have chosen.

• Research Design-- Description of the research techniques you have chosen and your rationale (e.g., qualitative phone surveys, written surveys sent to a random sample, etc)

• Methodology-- specific details explaining how the survey was implemented. Include a description of the population and any cohorts, the sampling plan and actual sample, details about the administration of the survey, and any other research techniques used.

• Expected Results and Analysis-- The expected, hypothetical results of your research. You may include statistics (average score or response), graphs, or some other way of displaying and explaining the results.

• Expected Conclusions and Recommendations-- The answer to the following question: "Based on these results, what can you conclude, and what are your recommendations for action steps or further research?"
