The broad research question in this study is, what are the benefits of parental involvement in the educational process to improve the outcome of the learners in the elementary schools in Bhutan

Statement of the Problem
Evidence from research shows that parents play a vital role in the growth and development of children, and education is not exclusion. Therefore, the parental involvement in the education of their children, especially in the elementary level of education, has a significant and positive impact on the education outcome of the children (Epstein, et al. 2009). Despite this importance, few research studies have been carried out to examine why there is a lack of effective involvement of parents in the education process of their children. Limited research has been carried out to examine the perception of teachers and parents with regards to the involvement of parents in the education of children, and this exhibits a major gap of knowledge in this topic. In line with these aspects, this research study seeks to bridge this gap by exploring the various perceptions that parents, teachers, and the community have with regards to the involvement of parents in education. This paper will also examine the various activities that the parents can engage in during their involvement in education and the impacts that their involvement has on the learning outcome of their children.
