  • Gender variables: sex (already coded); male indicator (0 = Female; 1 = Male)
  • Education variables: edu3cat [0 = ≤High School Diploma; 1 = Some College (Associate's or vocational/technical training); 2 = Bachelor's degree and above.
  • Income variables: fmlyinc (see values below) ; Income (1 = Low; 2 = Lower Middle; 3 = Upper Middle; and 4 = Affluent)

  • Physical activity variables: pa3cat (0 = Poor; 1 = Intermediate; 2 = Ideal); sportindex; hyIndex; activeindex (the latter three variables are continuous measures)
  • Diet variables: IdealHealthNutrition (0 = Poor, 1 = Ideal); darkgrnveg; eggs; non-fried fish (the latter three variables are continuous measures and are servings per day)
  • Status variables. For example, medication status, stroke status, coronary heart disease, diabetes status, hypertension status, etc, are Y/N variables. So, 0 = No; 1 = Yes.
